I just purchased a new PC. Running XP Pro. Comcast Cable.
I also bought a new SMC Barricade 7004VBR. All set up, but the new PC has no connection. Strange, because the other PC plugged into the router does have a connection.
The error message I'm receiving when I try and run the installation CD is:
"Adapter gateway IP address does not match Wireless Router IP address. Please reset for 30 seconds and run Setup wizard again."
Also, don't know if it relates, but when I go into Device Manager, under Other Devices a yellow exclamation appears next to: Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller, PCI Simple Communications Controller, SM Bus Controller, and USB Controller.
Any ideas? Thank you.

I'd say that you need to install all the motherboard drivers by the sound of it. Having a yellow splat by the ethernet controller is almost certainly why you can't connect.

Turns out the fresh install of XP Pro didn't install the Network card driver. Did it manually and internet access is here.
Still can't run through that SMC router, though.....
