Myie 2

Hi everyone!
I just dwnloaded and installed MYIE2. I saw a review in this month's PC World. It's kinda cool. Just wondered if anyone else has or is using this browser. Any "tips or pointers" on this browser would be very helpful.

I used to use MYIE2 for a while and i really like it.

But

Then came Mozilla Firefox 0.8 (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/).

I really like this now, and its still a beta.

MYIE2 is still good though because anything is better than MS IE.

I used MYIE2 for a few weeks and did like it but am now back to using Avant as somehow MYIE2 was losing connection with webpages even though I knew my router was connected :confused: this happened on my desktop and laptop but does not happen with Avant.

I would be very careful about the use of MYIE2 plugins as some of these will 'call home' I did not install them because of this but do know one in particular was known to call home via firewall logs.

The tabbed browsing is really cool but one think MYIE would need to refine is when you open a window eg - extra emoticons on forums or the PM box to show you have a new message - Avant opens this as a small page but MYIE opens as another page which can be tedious when all you want to do is add another emoticon and a full sized page opens with 12 emoticons on it or a little message to say you have a PM on a full page

I feel back at home with Avant because of the blank screens requiring a re-boot (not too sure if it counted my router as a proxy :confused: ) I loved MYIE2 when I installed it and it does have some great features and I would most likely still use it if I didn't have the problems (my friend had the same issues with connections)

Avant's forum is much easier to find info on than the rather confusing MYIE2 one.

I have been using my IE over the last 1 yr, the reason I have continued using this browser cause I did not find any other browser which could fulfill my browsing needs and habits.


MyIE is sluggish at times while loading webpages, the pages when opened in other browsers like Opera load very fast and quickly (both are opened at the sametime).

What I like about MyIE is its pop-up blocker, its easy and very convienent to use. Another feature that I like is the enable right click (its a plugin).

The Side bar has alot of options to make work easier for you.

I would rate it as 6/10
