search page help!!

:( ive tried everything but my homepage to my internet(cox) just isn't changing! It keeps going back you c:\searchpage.html and is really ticking me off, does anyone know how to get rid of it? please help!

Does everything include getting rid of spyware and maybe coolweb search if you got hit with that?

ive used Spybot S&D and ad-aware6.0 and hijackthis!

none of them worked, the homepage kept changing back to searchpage.html and its still very annoying so please help

First step - get a current copy of CWShredder (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html) and follow the direction for running it. Does nothing unless it finds a Coolwebsearch critter and then it will remove that.

Next step - another hijackthis log but this time, please run it without other programs open on the PC.

I'm tempted to say to use Hijackthis to remove all the lines with c:\searchpage.html but I honestly don't know enough to feel safe suggesting that right now.
