Hey Guys,

I bought a Netgear WG614 Router today and I cannot get into my router settings. When I go through the installation guide and I'm asked to put in the default address (http://192.168.0.1), all I get is a blank screen waiting for it to load and in the end i get a

"Gateway Timeout
The following error occurred:
[code=GATEWAY_TIMEOUT] A gateway timeout occurred. The server is unreachable. Retry the request.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please contact the administrator. "

error. Can someone help me out on how to get passed this?

On the PC you are using trying to connect to the router click on Start - Run - CMD - ipconfig (hit enter)-- what IP address is it showing?

You should have a 192.168.0.xx address.

If you don't then type in ipconfig /release (hit enter) and then type in ipconfig /renew (hit enter) and see if you get a 192 address then.

The attached picture is the screen shot that i get when I ping 192.168.0.1. I believe that I get a response, but I'm not sure. The screen shot will show everything.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you do have contact.

When you do not it says Timed out.

Try holding the reset button in for about 30 seconds that should reset it back to factory defaults and see if you can then log into it.

Do you still have problems with your Router...? I also have the same router and I can only access my router setting by going to the Internet Explorer properties - Connections - LAN Setting and uncheck "proxy Server" and try to load the page again.
