Im looking for a good document version management software.
I know about PVCS by Merant, but it has a ludicrous price tag.
can onyone suggest any that they know of?

There are lots of different flavors of doc/version control/management apps out there, so your choice will depend on exactly what you want to control/manage. From your question, though, I'd suggest looking at something like WinCVS for the client side. There are some other good CVS server side downloads, too, though most tend to be Linux based (not a bad thing, IMO). There's also a free public CVS server called CVSDude. Can't vouch for it personally, but may be worth looking into.
