The Logitech Mouseware v8.03 scroll function just quit in Mozilla. It worked fine in the 1.4 before. Running win 98 se, AMD K6III-400, 192 Mb PC-100 ram.
The settings are all correct in Mozilla. It works fine in Netscape and Opera and all other windows functions. I reloaded the mouseware, and loaded the newer version of Mozilla. Nothing makes it work again

Back up your Mozilla Bookmarks; Uninstal Mozilla; Restart your computer; Re-install Mozilla.

Likely the Logitech mouse is not supported. try a microsoft mouse you know works.

You need to be running a firewall like free Sygate from http://download.com - type, sygate, in the Search box, you must be on-line to register Sygate, that is if you're not using a firewalled Router on a Network or, have another third-party firewall like Sygate installed.

Get, install, update and run free Ad-aware (and its HexDump plug-in) from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com or http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm and click the Scan Now link to run a free on-line virus scan.

I use a Logitech mouse but do not use the mouseware that came with it. It's an optical scroll mouse. No problems with Mozilla.

Thanks Styx
I have Norton, Zone Alarm and Adaware akready. The mouseware worked before in the Mozilla v1.4 fine, then quit. I thought something glitched my Mozilla and Mozilla suguested getting a newer build, so I got the v1.5. No change. It works fine in Netscape, and Opera.
A microsoft mouse is out of the question. I hate microsoft and could not stand to have one in my hand, besides I use a trackball. I hate mice, live or electronic.
-----------------------
Mawil if I dont use the software that came with it, are you suguesting no software? I would not expect microsoft to have drivers in windows to run a Logitech Trackball. I am running Mouseware 8.03. Seems like before when I tried to upgrade to v9.?? it goofed something up, so I had to uninstall it and went back to v 8.03
The scroll works perfect everywhere but Mozilla

I've used several Logitech mice and have never installed the mouseware/drivers for them. They all work fine with W98 and W2K and have had no problems with Mozilla, which I have used exclusively for quite some time. I've heard that installing the drivers can cause some problems.

The Fix !!!
-I deleted the cache and cookies
-I uninstalled the Java v1.3xx and installed the latest version, v1.4.2.03. Get it at
http://www.java.com
-I uninstalled the Logitech Mouseware v 8.03, and installed v9.73 get it at http://www.logitech.com
-I uninstalled the Mozilla v1.5 and reinstalled the v 1.4 then the v1.4.1 I think that it actually was 2 versions there, as they both installed the same.
I reinstalled the spell check for the v 1.4
Anyway it fixed it and I am a happy camper, now all I have to do is add more ram, (I hope), to fix the slow responses calling up the bookmarks and save pics.
I think the magic move was to actually UNINSTALL, not overwrite the old programs.
