I have been using various POP-Up Blocker software, such as WEBWASHER, NORTON and GOOGLE TOOLBAR to name a few.
Looking at the required resources, d/l and installation requirements, ease of configuration etc., my vote goes finally for GOOGLE. Not only is it easy to configure, it also puts my favorite search engine always at hand, i.e. I can now set my startup page to something else, like VDr ;)
Your vote/opinion?

It is the best popup blocker out there and i have tried loads.

Proxomitron.
Unfortunately no longer officially supported but there are still some Proxomitron websites being kept up by dedicated users.

I voted other, i use another browser (MyIE2, link in my sig), it has built-in pop-up filter and add filters and is based on the IE core so it'll work with any IE compatible website and bring many nice extra features, i can't see any downside to using this browser at all and it surprise's me that MS haven't replicated the idea yet.
Incidentally, i heard that the next version of IE (in XP SP2) may have built-in pop-up filters, interesting, but not enough of an improvement on it's own to make it all that's needed for me...
Proxomitron (as mentioned already) is another essential for me, aside from pop-ups (which is not the reason i use it) it allows me to customize pages of sites/forums i visit to remove anything i don't need or find unnecessary.
Regards :)

Using the older(free)version of Popup Stopper here. Works very well. Having to hold the Ctrl key down when clicking a link is a' bit of a pain. But a good reminder your being re-directed to another site...:)

I used the older version of pop-up stopper as well. I just switched to Google recently, and found it does work much better. It's smarter with opening secondary windows, so you don't need to hold the control/shift key down most of the time.

I would have to cast a vote for MOZILLA as well. although im not dumb enough to install crap that would make me have popups anyway i still use mozilla. My internet explorer never gets any popups (not counting site forced popups)

My vote is for Crazy Browser. I rarely ever see popup ads, and it's only two keystrokes to get rid of those which do pop up when visiting new sites.

I have for years used AdSubtract Pro, but found its pop-up blocker to be too too aggressive. I'm currently use Google's in its toolbar and am pleased with it. I still use AdSubtract Pro, minus the pop-up blocking option.

I'll second Firebird as a great pop-up blocker.

I use Norton Internet Security as the first line of defence and the Google Toolbar to catch anything that slips through. In 6 months it's caught 58 that NIS didn't catch.

No installation on demand. When it needs (or a website calls for) something to be installed, Mozilla just chokes and says "Would you like to install this plugin?"
Keeps websites from installing dialers, running some of the activex installs, and anything else that IE will just run quietly in the background and not tell you about. Helps cut down on the spyware that gets installed "by accident."

Hello,
I use Pop Up Killer 5.0.1.4 I downloaded it years ago from Indigo Rose Corporation. They sold it to another company and now you have to pay to get it. It works beautifully in all windows O/S from 95 to XP. Uses extremely low resources and blocks a ton of junk. Only problem is sometimes you need a pop up window to come up and then I have to shut it off. Other than that 0.0 problems!! Do a search it may still be downloadable! :D

I _LOVED_ that program! It caught everything, and what few things it didn't catch, you could add with just a couple of clicks and it was gone. But as you said, the author stopped updating it and it became pay-for under a different name.
Google Toolbar is unobtrusive, but it still lets a few through, especially pop-unders.
