Having trouble detecting the parrallel zip drive on an NT machine...I've read a post elsewhere that NT can only see/use the SCSI version of this? Or am I doing something wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, I found that after I posted the message, thanks.
My problem now is the machine is in an office 300 miles away off the network, away from the phone, and I'm going to have to walk the woman thru it!
Thanks again.

I found that the best way to do this is to have the files downloaded from the website to the machine they will be installed upon, then have the person run the install locally. After that have them reboot, or shut the machine down, plug the parallel drive into it and boot up again. Since NT 4.0 looks for SCSI on boot, it should find the new device, and install it at that time. When it comes up , then go into Windows Explorer and it will show up as a Removable drive in there. From that time, if additional drivers are desired, they can be put in from there.
This is the method I used back when I had an NT4.0 workstation. Just be sure it is running Service pack 6.0 at least. If not, some parts of what I described may not work as expected.
Is this machine on the upgrade path to Windows 2000 or better soon? this install is a lot better with the later OS's.
Hope this helps out some. If not, post back and I will plan to look at this forum regularly for a while to be sure you are on your way to a good resolution. :)
