hey guys.

Could anyone help me cuz this things is doing my head in?
I currently have telewest's broadband blueyonder and bought a unex ISO50e broadband router to work between my laptop and main PC (which both run on XP)

now, since i bought the router, i managed to get the dawm thing working. the only thing is that my ip address keeps changing as i think it is dchp.

i'm not that good on networking but i just need to know how to set the router into DCHP mode as i've upgraded the firmware and i can't see why it's not working.

I can set the static and it would work for a bit then in a coulpe of hours it would go off.

Could anyone put my mind to ease before i put a sledgehammer through it and i've nearly pulled my hair out over it.

If anyone does have one of these routers and have it connected to the blueyonder network, could you please contact me and let me know.

Thank you.

the information is discussed in chapter 3 of the manual (ftp://www.unex.com.tw/Manual/BROADBAND/IS050e/IS050e_manual.zip).

There are 4 ways to connect to your ISP, these 4 methods can be found in the “obtain
IP Addresses” section, they include:
(1) Static
(2) via DHCP
(3) via PPP over Ethernet
(4) via PPTP

Thank semble for that relply but the manual refers to v1.01 firmware.

Would you know how to configure the router with v2.02 firmware installed as i updated it off the website and would i need to contact Telewest for the information?

Please reply asap!!

ive finally done it (i think)

if anyone else has one of these and have v2.02 installed, then do the following;

on the config page, click on the DHCP icon.

Type in what you've named your main pc.

Goto clone MAC and type in the MAC address to THAT pc

Reboot router, cable modem (unplug from wall and wait for lights to come back on it) then your pc's and that should do it.

If i'm wrong in anyway, please reply.

;) :D
