I've got a laptop here running Win XP HE. I wanted to force aspi layer but not sure how to go about doing this. The machine in question uses Nero 5.5.9 and client keeps getting error messages relating to ASPI. I had the error message written down but can't find paper anymore....:(

I think you can still force the aspi layer by installing the latest aspi drivers 4.72 I believe. I know that when you install any version of Windows, it likes to install its own version so when you use an aspi check utility, it'll report that there isn't a layer installed or available. Doesn't Nero come with a set of aspi drivers??

Chorro, I didn't look to see if Nero had them. But I will. Thanks.

Just thought I'd update this. Nero's wnaspi.dll would not work. Had to forceaspi to get it working again. All is well with Nero again. thanks for the help!!
