Stupid Connection!!!!

ok sometimes my dsl will not connect i have the connection set up by windows xp through the wizard my provider is SBC and what happens is i will try to connect and normally it skips over "Dialing" and goes straight to "verifying password" but occasionally it goes to "dialing" and then says it cant find the host and i let it redial and it still cant find it so i have to del;ete the connection and turn off my comp and then turn backon and setup a new connection so i cann connec to the internet anyboyd know why sometimes i cant connect? please help it is annoying

Have you made any headway with this problem? I'd definitely be giving my ISP a call to rule that out first?

well it actually hasnt done it in a while *knock on wood* but i havent done any tweaking or anything like that
