Maybe this is an odd question and not placed in the right category. However, I just updated my PowerDVD 4 XP and noticed something on their website I'd never seen or heard of before. Using a remote control device with PowerDVD. Can someone explain how it works and/or, if I bought a remote control, could I use any that are on the market?

Hi Photolady,,, Haven't re-installed power DVD on my latest install yet. But i wonder if they are referring to a remote such as the ones that come with ATI's AIW video cards? I just installed the AIW 8500DV,and it comes with a really nice radio controlled remote. Trouble is,,i haven't quite figured out how i want to wire everything up yet.:) The manual says the remote will control just about everything on your PC including the mouse. It will control the DVD player that comes with the card, but may also do the power DVD program too...

I'm not sure what they meant, ridge. The software they had for free download was called "remote Genie" and this is what they said it was for:
This file is only for users who have purchased their remote control separately from their PowerDVD software.

After I posted my question I went back to Cyberlink's website, but could find no help/support for what they were talking about regarding what type of remote to use.
