I am thinking about maybe getting a DVD burner for storing my MP3's on DVD discs. I understand that they hold about 4.7 gigs of data. Would they then play in a DVD player with that much music being stored? Also any recomendations on a good all around DVD burner? Any info on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I can think of no reason it wouldn't work. I'm talking my wife into buying me a DVD burner soon, I'll let you know
;)
I burn MP3's to CDR & play them through my DVD player/home stereo & it works just fine. The way I look at it, data is data- you're just putting it in a bigger bucket.

as far as playback it all depends on the dvd player that you own ... some have a mp3 decoder some dont
as far as the dvd burner ... sony has a good model that supports the 4 main formats ... cant go wrong w/ that one

I agree om the bigger bucket concept, But didn't know how the data would show up on screen (TV) . I presently burn MP3 to CDR's also and most songs ( IDV tagged) will display the artist and title. But there are some that will display alright but will not play. I have tried using different burning software etc, to no avail. I have tried retagging, shortening the titles, and no way will they play. but yet if I take the CD to a neighbors house to try, they will play just fine on his DVD player, but then the text display is real crude.
I have a JVC player and his is Panasonic.

Sounds to me that your DVD player has limited support for MP#'s. Mine will play them all, but the tag info dispolay sucks. It's kinda hit or miss, because they'll all claim to support MP3 playback, you just have to try them out to find out how well...

Answer- Heat.
I was working nightshift in Korea (I'm in the Air Force) when one of my case fans crapped out. I noticed that the CPU temp popped up about 5 degrees, so I did some experimenting to get the temp lower util I could wake up during non-vampire hours to find a new fan. Underclocking was the most effective/easiest way & I feel that my system is more stable now. That's why I left it that way.
