Well I finally broke down and got a CD-Burner and a mic, and I made some Mp3's of myself. I'd like to convert those files into CD-Audio format to play in a home or car stereo, but I don't have any software for it. I honestly don't have time to search the web, and what I have done left me frustrated. Can anyone help me out? Links to free software are great, but just knowing what's good is... well that's good too. :D

Did you not get any software with the burner? EasyCD will burn MP3's "on the fly", meaning they'll be converted to CD audio during the burn. I'm pretty sure Nero does too.

For converters, I like CDex. (The latest version is 1.4) It's free, with no nag screens at all, but the guy won't shy away from donations.

Make sure MP3's are converted to a .wav file, 44100-16khz stereo.

I would recommend using a demo version of Nero 5.x. To get the full version it will cost you a small amount but i think it is one of the best programs out there. It is well worth the price.

Uh, make that 44100khz at 16 bit stereo. I think I've made that mistake more than once lately, too.

Music WildFire is a program that I've used before successfully. It's a little slower than other programs like Nero, but it's free:

But eventually, you're going to want a complete burning program like Nero, so definitely try their demo:

Nero 5.5 came with my CD-RW and it works excellent for MP3 to audio. You choose in the beginning whether you want to create a Data CD or Audio CD. You then drag the MP3s from your hard drive to the CD recording window; when you've selected Audio CD, the files automatically convert to CD Audio format.

It also has a nice gauge at the bottom showing you how many minutes (Audio CD) or Mb (Data CD) you have used/have left.

also try MP3 cdburner by Acoustica.com Their latest version includes a cdripper and ID3 tagger. It also normalizes mp3s and alerts you of incomplete mp3s before burning.
