If don't want or yet have particularly player to make and play whole tunes playlists for all audio filetypes (like maybe your recent Christmas carol dounloads ;))...

Hey, did you know you could use Irfanview to play mp3, wmp, wav, midi files AND make playlists AND play the lot?!?

load your tunes in the SLIDESHOW function
set the gap at automatic for 2 seconds or so...
click play
and you're away!

Set backs:
to adjust volume, must have volume window open
to change between open windows, must use ALT + TAB keys...
can't use minimize on open windows w/o disrupting audio play via SLIDESHOW...
iow, slideshow is cancelled

Ya, it's not an ideal audio player, as you can see, but for people like me who do not want a bulky audio player but need something that can play all audio w/ playlists (my CoolPlayer wont play wmp), then this is a manageable workaround, I find.

If you give it a try, post back with what you think!;)

I had a nice surprise once when I accidently opened an avi video file with Irfanview once and it did a nice job of playing it. No one ever told me it could do that either. A pretty amazing program considering that it's free.

precisely, Gerdog
it's great to know what can be used for what in a pinch
and even just good to know what a common popular program can actually do

It'll play QuickTime files too, as long as QuickTime is installed to begin with.

XnView will play those files as well. I have to keep both of them. They're better than a lot of the bundled junk I've seen.

I have not used Irfanview for playing music yet, but I do use it with my scanner. It is a very good FREE program.
