Olympus Digital Camera software

I have an Olmpus C-3020 digital camera and have installed the camedia software on a Windows 2000 machine. It appears from the way the software appears that you simply have to push a button to download the pictures from the camera to the hard drive. When I doubleclick that button it says my camera isn't connected. However if I use the Navigation tree above then I can navigate to the camera. It shows up as a removable drive. Now I can see all the pictures on the camera. I have to select all and copy and paste them to my picture directory. Basically I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong or perhaps this software comes with there entire line of cameras and this feature is not available on my camera?

It could also be that the software doesn't support Windows 2000.

IMO, if it works fine this way, don't fix it if it ain't broke :)

That's how I get pictures off of my Sony Cybershot, it shows up as a removable drive, and I have a folder set up called "Camera Temp" that I just dump all of the files into so that I can work on them later.

Both my Minolta D7i and my Sandisc card reader work that way as well. If they didn’t I would be on the boards looking for software that would let me work directly in Windows Explorer rather than have to go through some intermediate program.

I'm running Windows millenum and using an Olympus c 2040 camera.
What I need to do to download my pictures is to open the removable drive and when the pictures appear, create a new folder and drag and drop each picture into this folder.

I've got an Olympus Camedia D-380. The Camedia software (which I haven't installed - I prefer to screw things up using Irfanview) clearly states "..only Windows 2000 Professional is supported."

Are you using 2000 Pro?
