I am having a problem with the Yahoo Messenger, I have the latest Messenger installed, I am running IE 6.0, I ahve never had no other problems with messenger.....
I can not add a contact, as far as I can get is (how would you like to add a friend), I choose one or the other and the box goes blank and wont finish, I have to hit cancel, I have tried changing all the settings in the connection and still have no luck, I have contacted yahoo help site and they told me the same things I have already tried and also looked around in there help site and seen the fix that they have for some file but after installing it it still does not help, (should it go someplace else), I don't know what else to try and was hoping someone in here could help or has had a similar problem and know how to fix this.
Thanks!

Hi! I have reinstalled and uninstalled and done a clean install and still nothing, it just wont send messages, I can't hit the yahoo helper either it wont respond, but I can check like the news and weather and so forth but no communication with any contacts. I also wonder if the file RICHED32.DLL could be my problem, I had downloaded it and it installed itself, should I also place it somewhere else. Like I had said earlier I can hit the (add a contact) and it asks how would I like to add and I will hit by yahoo ID and then there is nothing but the box with back, finish, cancel, and I just have to hit cancel b/c it wont finish out the rest.
Thanks, nancyann

Have you tried contacting Yahoo's help?

Personally,i prefer to use Trillian to access the "chat" programs. Might want to check it out...

Thanks Ridgerunr! I do like the Trillian, it works just fine for me so far, but I like it. As for Yahoo help, I have got ahold of the help people and they told me the same thing I had alredy tried about the RICHED32.DLL file, so much for that, there is alot better help here than the helpers at yahoo help, so thanks again!
