I tried downloading one of my favorite games. And after the download the setup went normal. Then when I tried to run the game I got two error messages. The first one states C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High\aceshigh.exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning. The second one says The ACESHIGH.EXE file is linked to missing export DDRAW.DLL:DirectDrawCreateEx. Whats going on here. I downloaded this game twice before and never had this problem.

jayclark,
Sounds like a bad download to me. What OS are you using? Have you used up your free 2 weeks already on Hitech AH? That might also be a problem. I have a AH cd if you want it its yours. :)

jayclark,
Are you saying that you used the free trial period twice during your 2 week trial? Or are you saying you have used two 2 week trials periods?
I downloaded AH from Hitech about 6 months ago and ordered a AH CD from them as a backup. After finding that my 2 week trial period only lasted 9 days I uninstalled the game and never looked back.
I think you can order the AH CD from HiTech for 7 or 8 bucks.

What I was saying is that I only used the free trail period twice. I'm going to try to download it one more time. And if that dosen't work I'll order the cd.

I was concerned until I read up on this...
If you are still playing at the end of your two week trial, upon entering an arena you will be prompted for a credit card number. If you choose to subscribe, your credit card will immediately be billed $14.95 USD. If you choose not to subscribe, 8 player head-to-head play is always free. You will continue to be billed each month following until you delete your account, which may be done through our secure admin page, through the game, or by calling or emailing HiTech Creations.
I don't think this is necessarily a problem with the d/load.
What DirectX version & Windows version are you using?
sysreq:
Windows 95/98/ME/2K/XP
DirectX 8.0 and DirectX 8.0 compatible video card
Have you run DirectX Diagnostics?
Any other DirectDraw games having issues?

I finally got it to run. I redownloaded it just in case it was the download. And I downloaded DirectX 8.1. I did have 8.0. So if it was the download or not it dosent matter as long as it works thanks for the help.
