My room mate and i are both running Xp pro. on our pc's at home. I have a cable modem..
What is the best way to be able to set everything up to share my internet connection
We've looked into a few things but end up w/ more questions than answers :confused:

A Cable/DSL router is probably the best way to go to connect the two PC's. You can get more info about them from http://www.linksys.com There are other manufacturers for them as well.

Does anyone know the best deal on routers (price vs. quality)??

Linksys and Netgear make some pretty good routers. I'd go with one that has 5 ports on it to allow future expandability. There are a bunch of different models that offer various features and I think that any from the two brands I mentioned will be fine. Most can be had for under $100 but may cost a bit more if you want wireless built in.
