I have cable internet and network my computers using a router. I also run Zone Alarm. I went to a website that had a "Leak Test" and it said my firewall was working. Here's my question(s). My Zone Alarm gives this alert: The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (UDP Port xxxx) from xx.xx.xx.x (DNS). I went a couple of weeks without getting one alert, and now I'm getting tons in one hour from the same DNS, but a different port. What exactly are they trying to do? Why is the same dns coming up? It's like they're locked into my computer and keep trying to get in. Is there something I can do to throw them off?

I know I'm pretty ignorant about this, but that's why I'm here. Enlighten me! Thanks!!

Oh yeah...is there a way to look up who this is?? Just curious. Thanks!!

If your router had nat capabilities you would not see that.

If you were to hit the further info in ZA that should give the info you want.

Okay, that tells me I'm in good shape as far as protection. And although I have ZA set up to silently alert me, it's still bothers me that I get so many alerts in an hour. I was even thinking about unplugging my cable modem, but I guess that wouldn't work.

I already have to be careful because ZA has a "kink" in it. I have to use the alt + Letter key to navigate it because if my mouse runs across an executable button, it shuts down! I have a HUGE post on that one, but no one could figure out why. Thanks for the response!

One of the reasons why I went to router way.
One that had nat in it that is.
As for getting hit so often, maybe they got the ip address from whom ever had it before you. Or using a ip generator. Hard to tell.

Update: I re-started my computer, and so far, no hits. I know it didn't really matter, but it still bothered me to watch the number of alerts go up so fast! Thanks for the information.
